Paediatric First Aid Annual Refresher (L3 RQF) – 3hrs
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework states that early years providers should consider whether paediatric first aiders need to undertake annual refresher training to maintain basic key skills and keep up to date with any changes to procedures.
The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Annual Refresher (RQF) qualification has been specifically designed to allow qualified paediatric first aiders to refresh their knowledge and practise essential skills every year until requalification training is required.
Successful candidates will leave the course with a renewed confidence having practised essential paediatric first aid procedures, such as performing CPR, dealing with a choking casualty and much more.
About the course
One thing we hear over and over again in the training room, is the confusion people have over the ratio between rescue breaths and chest compression’s between adults and children. Adults and children are the same. 30 chest compression’s and two rescue breaths. The most important thing to remember is that you need and AED as soon as possible. Experts have said that they believe the chances of survival deteriorate by up to 10% for every minute you delay in delivering that life saving shock. If you need to shock the person more than three times, the chances of survival are not very good.
We are passionate about delivering the very best training you can receive teaching everything we can in the time we have. We do not want you to leave just knowing new things, but we also want you to feel confident in delivering your new skills safely and effectively, thus giving the casualty the best chance of survival.
